GROVETOWN, Ga. - Joseph Joe R. Wasick of Grovetown, GA passed away at home on November 8, 2012. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at 11:00 am Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 4255 Columbia Road, Martinez, Georgia, 30907. Interment with full military honors will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Joe was born in Gary, IN, December 22, 1956. He attended Merrillville High School, entered the U.S Army at age 18, where he retired after 20 years. During his service he worked to continue his education and received his Bachelor's Degree from Brenau University. Most recently he was employed as a Senior Systems Architect Analyst for Booz Allen. Joe loved his family and cherished his grandchildren. Music was a big part of his life, learning to play guitar when he was very young. Every path he took he brought humor, love and the desire to help anyone in need. In difficult times he and his wife would tell each other Everything will work out in the end. They also told each other We trust in God to do the right thing. Joe's time in this world made it a better place for all who knew him. His departure touches and saddens the hearts of many people. Joe will be deeply missed by his family. He is survived by wife of 37 years, Kathleen Wasick, two daughters; Michelle Wasick, Mallory (Craig) Flick, his grandchildren, Jayden Wasick, James Flick, Hayden Flick. He has also leaves behind his parents; Robert and Helen Wasick, five brothers; Robert (Sue Ellen) Wasick, Daniel (Heidi) Wasick, Paul (Doreen) Wasick, Mike (Darla) Wasick, Larry (Liz) Wasick, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 14, 2012, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 2700 Middleburg Dr., Augusta, GA 30909.
