AUGUSTA, Ga. - Josephine Haskins, 82, wife of 61 years to Curtis Haskins, Sr., passed away peacefully at her home in Augusta surrounded by family, Monday September 5, 2016. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with Pastor Glenn Russell officiating. Interment will follow in the Haskins Family Cemetery in Waynesboro, GA. Mrs. Haskins, daughter of the late James Thomas and Ethel (Moore) Pittman was born April 9, 1934 in Vidalia, GA. After attending high school, Josephine married the love of her life the late Curtis Haskins, Sr. on September 20, 1951. Throughout their 61 years of marriage, the two traveled and lived throughout the world and settled in Augusta, GA where Josephine was a homemaker and together they raised six children. She was a faithful Christian and member of the First Baptist Church of Waynesboro and Spares and Pairs Sunday School Class. During her life some of her favorite hobbies were fishing, collecting antiques and watching Atlanta Braves baseball. She loved vacations on Tybee Island and trips to Florida to visit family. Josephine is survived by her children: Barbara (Loren) Adams, Curtis (Betty) Haskins, Jr., Randolph (Karen) Haskins, Alan Haskins, Kent (Elba) Haskins and Scot (Tonya) Haskins, several grandchildren, 1 great grandson and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her grandson Steven R. Ferguson, Jr. Pallbearers will be Jeff Greenway, Adam Hart, Garrett Haskins, Hunter Haskins, Joshua Haskins and Payne Jones. Honorary Pallbearer Loren Adams. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Spares and Pairs Sunday School Class c/o First Baptist Church of Waynesboro, 853 North Liberty St., Waynesboro, GA 30830.
