Born in Indianola, IA, she was a daughter of Mary Ann Weeks Hatcher, Waterloo, IA and the late Darrel Hatcher. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, Augusta, GA. Karla was a devoted military wife and mom during her husband's Navy career and later became a Sales Associate at Belk's in North Augusta, SC. She enjoyed camping, kayaking and traveling.
