Mr. Herman Leonard Phillips, 74, of Ellington Airline Rd. entered into rest August 31, 2017.

Mr. Phillips was a lifelong resident of McDuffie County, GA and the son of the late James Wade Phillips and the late Clovie Holloway Phillips. He served in the U. S. Army during Korea and retired from civil service at Ft. Gordon with over 30 years of service. Mr. Phillips was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Cathy A. Phillips; son, Brian Lynn Phillips (Angie) of Dearing, GA; daughter, Lisa Spivey (Toby) of Harlem, GA; sister, Ann Hickle of Gibson, GA; grandchildren, Kimberly Phillips, Hunter Phillips, (Breanna), Brandon Spivey, and Dylan Spivey and great grandchild, Cole Wade Phillips.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 4, 2017 in the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jack McCorkle and Rev. Logan Huff officiating. Interment will follow at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be: Andy Phillips, Michael Phillips, Brent Hood, Jamie McMichael, Hunter Phillips, Brandon Spivey, Dylan Spivey, Justin Hood, Jeremy Ansley.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
