AUGUSTA, Ga. - Reverend Leroy Quarles III entered into rest Monday, March 2, 2015 at his residence.
Reverend Quarles was a native of Warrenville, South Carolina, but lived most of his life in Augusta, Georgia.
He was a graduate of T. W. Josey High School and attended North Carolina A&T. Leroy enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served his country faithfully and was previously employed by Proctor and Gamble of Augusta, GA. He held the manager's position of the Police Benevolent Office of Georgia.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Quarles, Sr. and his brother, Melvin Quarles.
He leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Reverend Gloria Donahue (Deacon Frank); two sisters, Marie Alexander (Michael), Augusta, GA and Yvonne Quarles, Charlotte, NC; a brother, Reverend Jimmy Quarles (Brenda), Hephzibah, GA; a cousin as a brother, Charles Mealer (Betty), North Augusta, SC; two stepsisters, Jacqueline Donahue, Augusta, GA and Sabrina Donahue Dickson (James), Augusta, GA; several uncles and aunts; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, March 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. from First Providence Baptist Church, 315 Barton Road, North Augusta, SC with Reverend Dr. Alexander Pope, Jr., pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Walker Memorial Park, 611 Laney Walker Blvd., Augusta, GA 30901, with military honors.
* Viewing will begin today at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m.- 6:30 p.m.
