WARRENTON, Ga. - Mr. Lewellyn "Junior" Thompson, 69, of the Mesena Community, entered into rest May 9, 2015. Mr. Thompson was a native of Warren County, GA and was the son of the late Lewellyn Thompson, Sr. and the late Rosa Lee Benson Thompson. He worked at Thigpen's Service Station for 38 years, Lamar Richards Electrical and was employed by the Warren County Board of Education Maintenance Department. Mr. Thompson enjoyed collecting caps and knives and was an avid hunter and gardener. He was a member of the Mesena United Methodist Church where he was a former member of the Administrative Board. Mr. Thompson was also a former Trustee for Fountain Campground. Survivors include his beloved wife of 50 years, Nancy C. Thompson; sister-in-law, Laverne C. Shelton (Thomas); niece, Terrie S. Gribanow (David, Anne Marie and Aubrey); nephew, Chris Shelton (Theresa); and godchildren, Ray Hill and Sammy Purvis. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock p.m., Tuesday, May 12, 2015 in the chapel of Beggs Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Dunaway officiating. Interment will follow in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be: David Cheely, Sammy Purvis, Steve Phelps, Ray Hill, Darrel Hall and R. C. Smith. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fountain Campground, c/o Mike Hobbs, P. O. Box 91, Thomson, GA 30824. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Monday at the funeral home. Beggs Funeral Home, 799 Cobbham Rd., Thomson, GA, is in charge.
