GIBSON, Ga. - Mrs. Lillian Milburn Smisson, age 94, of Calhoun Street, died Friday afternoon in the Jefferson Hospital. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday in the Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home Gibson with Rev. Clay Weed and Mr. Carol Bethune officiating. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Graveside services will be held 3:00 PM Monday in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Fort Valley, Georgia. A native of Glascock County, Mrs. Smisson was a daughter of the late Robert L. and Callie Reese Milburn. She had worked as a store clerk, was a homemaker and a member of Fort Valley First Baptist Church. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Samuel Smisson; 5 brothers, J.C. Milburn, Roy Milburn, Horace Milburn, Ralph Milburn and Bobby Milburn; 1 sister, Celia M. Parrish; and is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Sara and Pete O'Neal of Augusta; a sister-in-law, Elsie Milburn of Gibson; several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM till service time Monday at the funeral home.
