THOMSON, Ga. - Mr. Lonzie Beckworth, 75, beloved husband of Mrs. Hazel Beckworth, died Saturday, July 21, 2012 in the Doctors Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 24, in the Little Brier Creek Baptist Church with the Dr. Randy Dunaway and Rev. Butch Baston officiating. Burial will be in the Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens. Mr. Beckworth was a native of Glascock Co., but has lived in Thomson for many years. He was the son of the late Hubert & Mollie Beckworth. He retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation in 1999. He was a Baptist by faith. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Hazel Beckworth, his children, Mike (Peggy) Beckworth, Tammy (John) Kalada, Jeanna (Peter) Kelley, his grandchildren, Tiffany (David) Hardy, Chasie (Geoffrey) Gerlach, Mason Kalada, Will Kalada, Owen Kalada, Hannah Chalker, Sarah Kelley, Phillip Kelley, Francis Kelley, his great-grandchildren, Ethan Hardy, Ella Gerlach, Eric Hardy, his brothers and sisters, Frances Lampp, George (Frances) Beckworth, Mayne Keller, Joe (Gloria) Beckworth, and Linda (Rollo) Fields, and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Troy Phillips, Clayton Phillips, Don Reese, Billy Gay, Hunter Lampp, & Timmy Lampp. Friends may call at the residence or at the Curtis Funeral Home.
