SYLVANIA, Ga. - Mrs. Loretta Markovcic Newton, 81, of Sylvania, died early Sunday morning, October 18, 2015, at her residence under the care of Trinity Hospice of Augusta and her loving family. She was born April 27, 1934, in Screven County, Georgia, to the late Joseph, Sr. and Mary Krulic Markovcic. She was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in Sylvania. She is survived by her husband, Wilman Franklin (Frank) Newton of Sylvania; daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda N. and Don Robinson of Nahunta, Georgia, and Debra N. and Tim Kennedy of Evans, Georgia; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Frances and Otis Dailey of Scarboro, Georgia; brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward and Grace Markovcic and Tommy Markovcic, all of Rocky Ford, Georgia; a granddaughter, Sara C. Whitmore of Centerville, Georgia; a great-grandchild, Lochlin Whitmore; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Newton will be held Tuesday, October 20, 2015, at 2:00 P.M. in Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church with Father Louis Lussier officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery in the Bay Branch Community of Screven County. Pallbearers will be: Terry Markovcic, Dallas LeMaster, Grant LeMaster, Brad Dailey, Mike Markovcic, Tony Markovcic, Jr. and Bunny Johnson.
