AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Louise Thomas, wife of the late Jesse Gordon Thomas, entered into rest on Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at University Hospital. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors this Saturday, November 28, 2015, at 2:00 PM, with Deacon Sandy Turner officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Mrs. Thomas was a native of Jackson, SC, had lived in Augusta all of her life, and was the daughter of the late Fred Elroy and Maddie Tyler Chance. She had worked in the Personnel Department of the King Mill early in life and later had been a homemaker who loved to fish and sew. She had served as the President of the Aidmore Auxiliary and was a member of Christ Church Episcopal. Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl Grover. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Gordon and Linda Thomas, and Robbie and Kathy Thomas; her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Jeff Newman; her brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Lynell Chance; seven grandchildren, as well as fifteen great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Church of Our Saviour, Human Needs, 4227 Columbia Road, Martinez, GA 30907.
