HEPHZIBAH, Ga. - Manuel DeJesus Garcia, 79, loving husband of 58 years to Liselotte Kress Garcia, entered into eternal rest Wednesday night, June 24, 2015 at University Hospital. A Celebration of Life service will be held in the James Funeral Home Chapel at 3:00PM Sunday, June 28, 2015 with Rev. Jason Burton officiating. One of three sons born to the late Julia Campos Garcia and the late Roman Garcia, Manuel grew up in San Antonio, Texas. He proudly served our country in the Army in Vietnam, retiring with over 20 years of service. He then worked for Schwerman Trucking for 20 years, driving enough miles to be in the Million Mile Club. A loyal friend and devoted husband and father, his love for his family was absolute and unwavering-his family was his life. Manuel will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know him. Manuel is also preceded in death by his daughter, Mickey Cheatwood; son, Shawn Garcia; and brothers, Aurelio Garcia and Antonio Garcia. Other survivors include his daughters, Jessy Hopkins (Mike) and Heidi Fourman of Longview TX;nine grandchildren, Allan Fourman (Samantha), Kevin Fourman (Colette), Candy Bodine (Jay), Billy Fourman (Kim), Shannon Mayfield (Darrell), Tammy Fourman (Ed), Kyrsten Hopkins, Madison Hopkins and Tammy Sanders (Geoff); several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
