AUGUSTA, Ga. - Funeral Services for Mrs. Margaret D. Callicott, 92, who entered into rest December 24, 2014, will be conducted Monday morning at 11 o'clock from the Posey Funeral Chapel. Dr. John M. Younginer, Jr., and Rev. Ron Jones officiating. Interment in Pineview Memorial Park. Mrs. Callicott was a life-long resident of North Augusta and a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She was the only child of Paul Austin Diendorf and Allie Irene McCann. Recently, while living with her daughter, she attended the Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Callicott's career was spent teaching children. She was Director of Grace United Methodist Church Kindergarten for 13 years, she worked at the Child Care Center at University Hospital and finished her career as the Head Teacher at the Augusta College Child Development Center. Mrs. Callicott was a charter member of the CSR Pre-School Association, the South Carolina Association on Children under Six and the Association for Childhood Education International. She was also a member of the North Augusta Women's Club, where she served as treasurer and vice president and also served on the Volunteer Board of University Health Care. In 1999, she received a service pen in honor of her 2,500 hours of volunteer service to University. Mrs. Callicott was preceded in death by her husband, Calloway Moisant Callicott, Sr., and son, Calloway Moisant Callicott, Jr. Survivors include three daughters, Ann C. Stalnaker (Ed), Augusta, GA, Margaret C. Gilleland (Dwight), Dawsonville, GA and Bonnie C. Arthur (Pat), Augusta, GA; eight grandchildren, Craig Stalnaker, Brian Stalnaker, Ben Gilleland, Shelby G. Edmunds, Sam Gilleland, Megan A. Mask, Kelsey Arthur and Patrick Arthur; seven great-grandchildren; Betsy Nunamaker, who Mrs. Callicott lovingly referred to as a fourth daughter. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Sunday afternoon from 2:30 until 4. The family would like to express their appreciation to Heartland Hospice for the loving care from Becky, Jeannie and Ashanti.
