AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Maria (Maruja) Stincer went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 6, 2015. Maruja was born in Havana, Cuba in 1923. She was preceded in death by her husband, E. F. Stincer, M. D., her daughter, Maria Stincer Arnold, her parents, Jose and Maria Rodriguez, and her brothers, David Rodriguez and Jose Rodriguez. Maruja graduated from Colegio Eucaristo in Havana, Cuba. She married E. F. (Chiquitico) Stincer, M. D. in 1951 and had four children. In addition to Havana, she resided in Nassau, Bahamas, Milledgeville, Georgia, and for the last 30 years in Augusta, Georgia. She enjoyed reading, sewing, reciting poetry, and doted on her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was an accomplished piano instructor and had a short acting career performing in a movie titled Fantasmas del Caribe in 1943. She enjoyed travelling with her family and visited Spain, Portugal, France, and Mexico. Maruja was of the Catholic faith. She is survived by her children E. J. (Kiki) Stincer, M. D. (Holly) of Augusta, Georgia; Maria Llambes (Manuel) of Powder Springs, Georgia; Eduardo (Eddie) Stincer, M. D. (Leisa) of Augusta, Georgia; her grandchildren Stephen Stincer, Stuart Stincer, Joseph Stincer, Joshua Arnold, Gavin Llambes, Alex Llambes, Benjamin Stincer, Thomas Stincer, Daniel Stincer, and great grandchildren Hatcher Stincer and Hollis Stincer. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the faithful caregivers who took such good care of her during the last months of her life: Milagro Benabidez, Sheila Cardenas, Kimberly Solomon, and Ofelia Vital. The family also thanks Gentiva Hospice whose caring staff made a difficult situation bearable. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 7th at 12:30 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Milledgeville, Georgia. Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Milledgeville, Georgia followed by interment at Baldwin Memorial Gardens. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Georgia Military College Class of 1973 Memorial Fund to Georgia Military College Foundation, 201 East Greene Street, Milledgeville, Ga. 31061.
