JACKSON, S.C. - Graveside Services for Mrs. Marie Wanola Chambers, 81, who entered into rest and returned to her Heavenly Home March 30, 2016, will be conducted Saturday morning at 11 o'clock in the Jackson Memorial Park. Dr. Mark Riser officiating. Mrs. Chambers was born April 27, 1934, to George and Binah Bumgardner Walls in Asheville, North Carolina, and was a former resident of Jackson for 46 years, having made Evans her home at Washington Commons for the past 6 years. She was a faithful member of Matlock Baptist Church. Mrs. Chambers always told her children "Before you go to bed, give your troubles to God He's going to be up all night anyway". Springtime was especially important to her as she loved the beautiful flowers and the sounds of birds. She loved her children and grandchildren very much and was always so excited to spend time with her great grandchildren. Mrs. Chambers was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Albert Chambers and two sisters, Velva King and Athleen Moody. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Paula Chambers, Jackson; a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Ricky Smith, Jackson; four grandchildren, Kim (Pat) Casper, Kristy (William) Williams, John Chambers and Justin Smith; four great-grandchildren, Kylie Casper, Hunter Casper, Trever Williams and Sienna Williams; a sister, Francis Bumgardner, Hickory, NC; a brother, Merille Walls, Hickory, NC. The family will receive friends at the graveside following the service. To all her friends in Jackson, Washington Commons, her caregivers from the Caring from the Heart (April, Cynthia and Terry) and staff at Heartland Hospice and Mary Kirkland, she wanted everyone to know how much you are appreciated and held a close place in her heart.
