I send my condolences to the Beard family. I remember when you all would visit your relatives across the street from my house on Basin street. I always thought that your mom and dad (Sonny) were a cool couple.

I send my condolences to the Beard family and I pray that the Lord God will comfort you during this time. Whenever I visited the store, she always had a smile on her face and held a short conversation me which was positive and complimentary. You guys were blessed with such a wonderful and beautiful mother, keep her blessing alive within yourselves.

Dear Mike and Jesse,
I don't have to tell you that your mom was one of a kind...she was real. She loved her "boys" and I'm sure you'll continue her legacy of love, family and fun as you cherish your many memories.
Please know that I and all the Raines family love you guys, and that we'll remember your mom as a very special, beautiful lady as well as a wonderful teacher.
God bless you.

Mike, my sincerest condolences for the loss of your mother. She was my eight grade math teacher. I have very fond memories of her class. She would give me a quarter for having the best grades on her test. I will always remember her kindness.

Mike and Jesse, Jerry and I are deeply saddened for your loss. Ms. Beard touched our lives in a way no one else has. She brought so much joy to others. I was one of them. I truly enjoyed the outings we shared together when I was in the 8th grade and the many times I watched her class for her at Terrace Manor. She will always be with us; just remember how fortunate you have been to have her in your lives for all this time. Be blessed and know God does not make mistakes-

Mike and Jesse,
Words are inadequate to describe how I feel about the passing of your mother. She, like your father, was someone who I admired and respected for well over forty years. Mrs. Beard was a fantastic role model, wonderful friend and excellent neighbor. Take comfort in knowing that she will not only be greatly missed by me and my family, but many whose lives she touched.

Our mother,Thelma, and Mary were the best of friends for decades. They shared in running Nearby Grocery. They talked on the phone a lot and Mary kept Momma laughing. I remember her as a lovely wife and mother a fine educator and (smile) who spoke "choice words" as part of any regular conversation, and a fine educator.
I hope she and Momma are starting a store in Heaven including penny candy, butter cookies, Popcicles and more. The Lord God is with her for eternity and we will see her again. Doris, Carmen, Greg.
