PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. - Mary H. Meyer, 85, Peachtree City, Georgia, passed away Sunday, December 21, 2014. She was the oldest daughter of the late Lester R. and Maxie Lanier Hooks of Millen, Georgia. She retired in 1983 from Southern Bell after 36 years of service. She worked in Millen, Augusta, and Atlanta, Georgia, during her career. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Harris; her husband, Hugh L. Meyer, Sr.; brothers, Franklin D. and Sidney A. Hooks; and sisters, Maxine Hooks and Shirley H. Crawford. She is survived by her daughter, Joan Harris Wagnon (Michael) of Fayetteville, Georgia; her grandsons, John M. Wagnon (Carrie) of Houston, Texas, Christopher S. Wagnon (Michelle) of Peachtree City, Georgia, and great-grandchildren, Cason, Kenslie, Nathan, and Leah. She is also survived by her sisters, Rebecca H. Barbel of Fayetteville, Georgia, and Hattie L. Cochran of Blue Ridge, Georgia, and her brother, Lester R. Hooks of Millen, Georgia. A memorial service will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 3, 2015, at Carmichael Hemperley Funeral Home in Peachtree City, Georgia, with Rev. Sean Robinson officiating.
