HARLEM, Ga. - Mr. Mitchell "Mike" Lamar Coleman, 64, husband of 45 years to Mrs. Shirley Jeanette Coleman, went home to be with his heavenly father on Thursday, April 28, 2016, at his residence. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 from 5:00 PM on 7:00 PM. Born in Russel, AL, a native of Harlem, Ga., Mr. Coleman worked with Columbia Co. Roads and Bridges as a Traffic Engineer. He was a simple man. Mr. Coleman would do anything to help someone and could fix anything he put his hands on. His grandchildren were the light of his life and he lived for them. He is preceded in death by his father, Edward Lamar Coleman, and his mother, Helen Rush Johnson. Additional survivors include his son, James "Jimmy" Coleman; a daughter, Shannon Coleman Trull (Gabrial); two brothers, Terry Wayne Coleman (Sandy) and Larry James Coleman (Dianne); three sisters, Gloria Jean Langston (Lawrence), Victoria Ann Coleman and Lynda Diane Wilson (Jody); six grandchildren, Shane, Travis, Stefanie, James, Jr., Andrew and Derek.
