RALEIGH, N.C. - Miriam H. Connors, of Raleigh, NC, died peacefully on April 4, 2016. Miriam, also known as "Mim" by family and friends, grew up in Jersey City, NJ. Born on Lincoln's Birthday in 1918, she was the youngest of four children of Herman and Ida Hartmann. After graduating high school, Miriam married her beloved late husband, Lt. Colonel Lawrence P. Connors, Sr. They cherished each other, their love everlasting. Miriam and Larry lived on or near bases located throughout the United States. The Army stationed them in Texas, Georgia, Kentucky, and Ohio, and in Occupied Japan. She and Larry returned to New Jersey, where they raised their four children: Lawrence, Jr. (Gail); Bruce (Elisabeth); Michael (Claudette); and Leslie (Kenneth). Miriam was a devoted wife and loving mother. After her children were grown, Mim and Larry settled in Augusta, GA, then a few years later in Raleigh. Miriam is survived by: her children; her six grandchildren, Kimberley (Thomas), Aimee (Anthony, Sr.), April (Jerome), Jennifer (Jacob), Patricia (Daniel), and Michael; and her thirteen great-grandchildren, Colleen, Liam, Anthony Jr., Daniel, Nicholas, Stella, Vivian, Lucas, Katherine, Spike, River, Connor, and Murphy; and many friends. Her final resting place will be next to her husband in Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the USO or the .
