AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Morizella S. Edwards entered into rest Monday, February 1, 2016. Funeral service will be held Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Good Samaritan Missionary Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Clyde Hill, Sr., presiding and Rev. Christopher Culbreth I, delivering the eulogy. Burial will be at Mt. Olive Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Edwards was a graduate of Lucy C. Laney High School, and received her degree from Voorhees College. She was a Richmond County Board of Education employee for over 35 years. She was also an active member of Good Samaritan Missionary Baptist Church where she served as church clerk. She was a dedicated Worthy Matron of the Queen Esther Chapter #119 of the Order of the Eastern Star, a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and the Ebony Social Club. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her husband, Willie Joe Edwards; her daughters, Kiki and Kilauna Edwards, Augusta, GA; one granddaughter, Ebone Edwards, Augusta, GA; her mother, Mrs. Wilhelmina Scott, Augusta, GA; two sisters, Francine Scott, Decatur, GA and Denise Thomas, Augusta, GA; three brothers, Ronald Mobley, Matthew Scott, Jr. and Darryl Scott, all of Augusta, GA; three brothers-in-law, Fred Edwards, Charles Edwards, and Larry Edwards, all of Augusta, GA; one sister-in-law, Charlene Jones, Augusta, GA; three aunts, Bessie Smith and Sabra Bryant of Augusta, GA, and Veronica Jones of Los Angeles, CA; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins to include 2 dedicated nieces Amanda Myers-Powell, Cincinnati, OH and Saudia Abdullah, Seattle, WA; godchildren, Tonya Stephens, Las Vegas, Nevada, Fred Johnson, Jr., Brad Johnson, Tinola Bussey, and Brooke Roberson, all of Augusta, GA, and Nicole Williams, Osako, Japan; special friends Rosetta Johnson, Naomi Williams, Julia Pitts, and Denise Roberson, Augusta, GA, and Diane Carswell of Grand Rapids, MI; a future son-in-law, Tyree Ware, Waynesboro, GA; dedicated family friend, Donnie Butler, Augusta, GA; and other sorrowing friends. There will be a viewing at the W. H. Mays Mortuary, 1221 James Brown Boulevard, Augusta, GA 30901 from 6pm-8pm this evening.
