AUGUSTA, Ga. - Neal Archie Sanford, 79, went home to be with His Lord Thursday, May 28, 2015, with his family surrounding him. Archie was born August 15, 1935, in Rocky Mountain, N.C. to the late William and Dora Mae Jackson Sanford. He was preceded in death by his only sister, Myrtle Blackstock. He was a member of McBean Baptist Church. Archie retired from the U.S. Army and continued his career with the military as a radio repair instructor. Archie was proud to be a veteran and was proud of those who served in our great military. He was a woodworker and was an avid motorcycle rider up until he was unable to ride anymore. If he wasn't riding his Gold Wing, he was dreaming about riding. Archie is survived by his wife of 19 years, Barbara Cook Sanford; 1 son, Neal Alan (Beth) Sanford of Coppers Cove, TX; 3 daughters, Dorothy Jean Sanford of Denver, CO., Christie Lynn (Allen Cricket) Duff of Grovetown, GA., and Pamela Elizabeth (Mike) Brown of Ace, TX.; 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial Services will be Sunday 3 pm at McBean Baptist Church, 4457 GA. HWY 56, Waynesboro, GA., 30830, with Pastor Rick Busby, officiating. Burial will be held at Milledgeville Veteran Memorial Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
