BEECH ISLAND, S.C. - Mr. Oscar Lee Kemp, of Storm Branch Road, entered into rest February 24, 2016 at University Hospital. Funeral service will be held 12 p.m., Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at Old Storm Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. Martris Mims officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Kemp, a native of Aiken County, S.C., had retired as an educator from Midland Valley High School. His education began at Hines Institute. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Benedict College, Columbia, SC and his Master's Degree from S. C. State University, Orangeburg, S.C. He was a member of Old Storm Branch Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon, Superintendent of Sunday School, Male Chorus and the Missionary Ministry. He was also a member of Simmons Lodge 571, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., the Lions Club, Aiken County Prison Ministry and Commissioner of the Valley Public Service Authority. He was the grandson of the late Rev. and Mrs. Clarence Moore. Survivors include his wife, Rubena Stoney Kemp of the home; a daughter, Catrina (Larry) Jackson, Atlanta, GA; four grandchildren, Storm J. (Devontay) Hall, Ft. Bragg, NC; Dejon Jackson, Jalin Jackson and Jaslyn Jackson, Atlanta, GA; great-grandchild, Erin Hall, Ft. Bragg, NC; devoted nieces, Sheila Kemp Street, North Augusta, SC; Diane White and Brenda Stoney, Louisville, KY; a host of cousins and friends. Friends may call the residence.
