GROVETOWN, Ga. - Patricia Denise "Patty" Vinson Smith, 57, entered into rest on Monday, September 7, 2015. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 10, 2015, at Grove First Baptist Church, Grovetown, Ga., with the Dr. Bill Eckles and the Rev. George James officiating. Patty was born in Fort Gordon and was a retired Medical Administrative Assistance for Windermere Nursing Home. She had worked for the Columbia County Sheriff's Department during the office of Sheriff Whitfield and Sheriff Tankersley. Patty also worked as an administrative assistant for a number of years for Augusta Trucking and Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Survivors include her two daughters, Nikki Oliphant (Michael) and Lacie R. Smith, her mother, Mary Ann Trudeau (Dennis); her father Broadus J. Vinson; one brother and seven sisters; and two grandchildren, Karynne Smith and Parker Oliphant; and numerous nieces and nephews.
