AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Paulette Verdier Black, 91, wife of the late James W. Black, entered into rest Thursday, October 29, 2015. Mrs. Black was a native of Paris, France. She moved to the United States with her beloved husband of 51 years, Jimmy; together they traveled the map and settled in Augusta. She worked as a seamstress and retired from Carol Fabrics. She was a member of St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church and of the Femmes de France. Family members include her sons: Russell Blodgett and Michel Black; daughters: the late Frances Colette Blodgett and Melody Ann Knight; grandson: Adam Knight; and granddaughters: Angelique Knight, Stephanie, Olivia, and Alice Black. The funeral Mass will be Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church with Fr. Gerald Ragan celebrant. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
