AUGUSTA, Ga. - Pearl Delane Harris Buggs, to know her was to love her. She passed away peacefully on January 30, 2013. Pearl was born in Columbia, South Carolina on December 25, 1948 to the late Gracie C. James and James Harris. Pearl graduated from Hopkins High School, then from Columbia Commercial College with a degree of Associate in Business in Secretarial Science. She was a former employee of USF&G Insurance, Department of the Army and retired from the Richmond County School District as an adapted Physical Education coach assistant. Pearl was a faithful member of New Exodus Missionary Baptist Church, Hephzibah, GA. Pearl fought her illness with dignity and peace. Pearl has now exchanged her cross for her crown. While her sweet voice is silenced, Pearl's legacy lives on in her father, James Harris; brothers, Larry (Harriet) James and Michael James; sisters, Rosa L. James- Alston, Betty Jean Robinson, Patricia Ann James, Robin Rochelle Perry and Jacqueline James; god-children and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is also survived by her four legged companion, Angel. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, February 4, 2013 at 12:00 noon from New Exodus Missionary Baptist Church, 3604 Morgan Road, Hephzibah, GA 30815 with Pastor Stevie Berry, officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park. **Public viewing will be today from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
