MITCHELL, Ga. - Mr. Percy Leroy Cannon, 78, of Five Points Jewell Road, Mitchell, Georgia, entered into rest May 15, 2015, at his residence. Mr. Cannon was born January 2, 1937, in Chestertown, Maryland to the late Elsie Robinson and and the late Emory Cannon. He served in the U.S. Army. He retired from the State of Delaware where he worked as Superintendent of Roads and Bridges for 25 years. Mr. Cannon was preceded in death by his parents as well as his wife, Jane Jacques Cannon; brothers, Howard Cannon, Charles Cannon, Thomas Cannon, William Cannon; and sisters, Catherine Leager, Ellen Elburn, Virginia Stanley. He is survived by three sons, Wayne Cannon, Percy Cannon, Jr., and Marc Cannon; one brother, Franklin Cannon of Warrenton, Georgia and one sister, Elsie May Forsythe of Charleston, South Carolina; one grandson, Myles Cannon of Mesa, Arizona; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 4 o'clock p.m., Wednesday, May 20, 2015 in the chapel of Beggs Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Wolfe officiating. Beggs Funeral Home, 799 Cobbham Rd., Thomson, GA is in charge.
