Lee AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Phyllis Singfield Lee, wife of the late Hawthorne Lee, entered into rest on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at Doctors Hospital. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 11 a.m. at First Metropolitan Baptist Church with Rev. Enoch Ward officiating. Burial will be at Southview Cemetery. Mrs. Lee was a 1957 graduate of Immaculate Conception Academy. She attended Paine College and graduated from Savannah State University where she was active with the local and national alumni chapters. She was employed with Burke and Richmond County Boards of Education. After thirty four years of service, she retired from Augusta Youth Development Center. She was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, National Association of University Women and the Board of Directors for Lyndale School. She was member of First Metropolitan Baptist Church and was former musician at several area churches. Preceding her in death was a son, Roddrick Lee. Survivors are a son, Renwick Lee; two grandchildren, Rashaud Lee and Raven Lee; great-granddaughter, Rylie Lee; and a host of cousins.
