MARTINEZ, Ga. - Mr. Ralph Winfred Brock, age 83, of Martinez, GA, formerly of Rome, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2015, in Augusta, GA. Mr. Brock was born in Bartow County, Georgia on January 20, 1932, son of the late William Thomas Brock and the late Lucille Ezra Carroll Brock. He was also preceded in death by his wife, the former Beverly Fletcher, and by a brother, William Brock. Mr. Brock was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during the Korean War. Prior to retirement, he worked for a number of years in the pulp mill at Inland Rome. Mr. Brock was a member of the North Rome United Methodist Church. Mr. Brock was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Survivors include two daughters, Valerie McKagen and her husband, Alex, Martinez, and Miralyn Meeks and her husband, Hugh, Augusta; grandchildren, Will Meeks, Avery Meeks, Tera Fulmer and her husband, Adam, and Seth Fuselier; a great-granddaughter, Eva Fulmer. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2015, at 11am in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. Norv Havens officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Friday from 6 until 8pm. At other hours they will be at their respective residences. Pallbearers serving are asked to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Saturday at 10:30am and include Hugh Meeks, Alex McKagen, Will Meeks, Seth Fuselier, Lamar Burns, and Tim Ware. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org. Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, 3002 Maple Road, Rome, GA, has charge of the funeral arrangements.
