Mr. Raymond Wright Hargrove, Jr., 92, husband of the late Loyce Hargrove, of Murrah Road, entered into rest on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Trinity Hospital.

His memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 24, 2017 at Grace United Methodist Church with Rev. James D. Dennis, Jr. officiating. A Private inurnment at Pineview Memorial Park will follow at a later date.

Mr. Hargrove served in the Navy during WWII. He attended the United States Naval Academy and was a graduate of the University of Georgia. He was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and remained committed all his life. He was a loyal member of Grace United Methodist Church. Mr. Hargrove had a lifelong passion for music and was a member of the Glee Club at Annapolis and at UGA and of the Grace United Methodist Choir. He retired as a bookkeeper from Koger and Walters Oil Company. He was a devoted husband to his late wife and was committed to his family, and especially loved interacting with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his son, David Hargrove (Martha); a daughter-in-law Polly M. Hargrove; three grandchildren Travis Hargrove (Heather), Ashley Bean (Uriah), and Chris Hargrove; and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Rick Hargrove; a grandson Michael Hargrove; and a brother Richard Hargrove.

The family will receive friends at the chruch from 1:00 PM until service time.

Memorials may be made to the Michael Hargrove Scholarship Fund, the Landscape Maintenance Fund, or the Choir Fund of Grace United Methodist.
