AUGUSTA, Ga. - On Thursday, November 12, 2015, Mr. Reginald Barnes, husband to Mrs. Debra Y. Barnes, entered into rest at his residence. Reggie, as he was affectionately known, was the son of the late Bennie Barnes, Jr. and Minnie Lee Green. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Deondria S. Barnes, and two brothers, Sonny and Calvin Barnes. After high school, he entered into the United States Army, where he served until 1985. During his tenure, he served as a Tactile Satellite Operator and a Fire Support Specialist. His achievements included Department of The Army Service Medal, Overseas Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the NCO Professional Development Medal. After receiving an honorable discharge, he worked for MK Ferguson as a Pipeline Installer, and PCS as a Chemical Operator. Reggie leaves a legacy of laughter, love, and cherished memories to: his loving wife, Debra Y. Barnes; daughter, Kebra Y. Thomas of Greensboro, North Carolina; brothers, Jerome Green of Thomaston, Georgia, Mack (Sue) Barnes of Detroit, Michigan and Harry Barnes of Atlanta, Georgia; sisters, Glenda Green, Marilyn (Gregory) Staten and Charlene Barnes, all of Thomaston, Georgia; mother-in-law, Betty J. Jones; brothers-in-law, Tony (Dianne) Jones of Stone Mountain, Georgia and Ellis (Tonya) Jones of Conyers, Georgia; special friends, Scottie Wright, William Odom and Richard McQuaker; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, November 21, 2015, at Broadway Baptist Church, 2323 Barton Chapel Road, with Dr. William C. Joyner officiating. Interment will follow in Mt.
