VAUCLUSE, S.C. - Mr. Richard "R.D" Kane, 61, beloved husband Mrs. Bette J. White Kane, entered into rest on Tuesday, December 22nd, 2015, in the comfort of his home, one day after his and Bette's twenty-sixth wedding anniversary. Born in East St. Louis, IL and a former resident of St. Charles, MO, he had been an area resident since 1984. He was a son of Betty Wade Kane, St. Charles, MO and the late Robert Dean Kane. A Vietnam Veteran, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He retired from the Savannah River Plant after twenty-five years of service. He was a dedicated member of Vaucluse First Baptist. R.D. enjoyed fly fishing, riding his 1989 Softail Classic and was very talented in woodwork. In addition to his wife and parents, family members include his children, Cristi Kearse, Jackson, SC, Misti Kehr and her husband, Trey, North Augusta, SC, Tery Kane and his wife, Jennifer, Lebanon, TN and Sondra Robertson and her husband, Jearmie, Graniteville, SC; sister, Beverly Kane, St. Charles, MO; grandchildren, Noah Newman and his wife, Lindsey, Cristopher Newman, Shaine Pattison, Raymond Pattison, Taylor Kehr, Tristan Kehr, Dalton Kehr, John Kane, Maggie Kane, Kaylee Youngblood and Cole Robertson and great-grandchildren, Dakota, Selena, Destiny, Natalie, Gabriella and Paisley Mae. In accordance with his wishes, R.D. was cremated and a Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, January 9th, 2016, at 2 o'clock at Vaucluse First Baptist Church, Vaucluse, SC, with Dr. Harold Herd officiating, Interment with Veterans Honors accorded by a United States Navy Honor Guard will follow in the Vaucluse Cemetery, Vaucluse, SC.
