AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Robert Jackson Walker Hawes, 37, entered into rest on Sunday, June 21, 2015. Robb was born in New Orleans but grew up in Augusta. He was a 1996 graduate and Co-Captain of the football team at The Academy of Richmond County. He earned his Bachelor in Accounting and Master of Science in Accounting at Appalachian State University. He was employed by The Home Depot Corporate Office in Atlanta as a Manager in the Internal Audit Department. Robb was an avid outdoorsman and mountain climber having scaled the Grand Tetons, Yosemite Valley, Sierra Nevada Mountains, Seneca Rock and several mountains throughout North Carolina and the United States. He had a passion for music and could play by ear almost any musical instrument. He also had a talent for writing songs that put a comical spin on life. He loved the game of golf and recently enjoyed his first hole in one. Robb loved his friends and family. Family members include his parents: Bobby and Vicky Hawes; sister: Lee Ferrell and husband Tim; nieces: Morgan and Gretchen Ferrell; and maternal grandmother: Roselle Burt. A memorial service will be Friday, June 26, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church of Augusta with Dr. Gregory DeLoach, Dr. Rodger Murchison, and Dr. R.J. Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in First Baptist Church Memorial Garden. Honorary Pallbearers will be Chris Calvert, Madison Harper, Marc Harper, Graham Shelton, Ryan Watts, Scott Heyman, Jason Long, Paul Jones, Cliff Cameron, and Barry Phillips.
