NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Funeral Services for Mr. Robert C. Bob Curry, 88, of Haley Drive, who entered into rest December 28, 2012, will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Posey Funeral Chapel. Rev. Jerry T. Matthews officiating. Interment in Pineview Memorial Park with Veterans Honors. Mr. Curry was a native of Madison, West Virginia, having made North Augusta his home for the past 58 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of North Augusta where he had served as a Royal Ambassador Leader and was a member of the Sheffield Club. Mr. Curry was a US Army Veteran of WWII, a retired Electrician at E.I. DuPont Company at the Savannah River Plant with 32 years of service, a former member of the Acacia Masonic Lodge #315 AFM, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Post #63. He was the Vice President of the North Augusta Yellow Jacket Club during the period that the North Augusta High School Stadium was constructed and past President of the Dixie Youth Pony League. Mr. Curry was the father of the late Jan Curry Knight. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Betty Watson Curry; a son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Robin Curry, Graniteville, SC; a daughter, Laura Curry Sadler, North Augusta; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, David Curry (Anna), Texas and Charlie Curry, Madison, WV: two sisters, Peggy Whitlock, Greensboro, NC and Hannah Prario, Ravenwood, WV. Pallbearers will be Russell Curry, Kyle Sadler, Grayson Knight, Skyler Curry, Les Knight and Bill Besson and Joe Musgrove. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 5 until 7. Memorials may be made to the True North Church Building Fund, 1297 West Martintown Road, North Augusta, SC 29841 or to Agape Hospice 301 Silver Bluff Road, Aiken, SC 29803. The family wishes to express appreciation to PCM Nursing Staff, Destiny Mercer, Visiting Angels and Agape Hospice, for their loving care of our family.
