HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Mr. Robert Earl "Bobby" Fairley, Sr., age 77, of Hattiesburg, MS, and formerly of Pascagoula, MS, passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at a local hospital. He was born March 20, 1938 in Gulfport, MS. Mr. Fairley was former employee of Ingalls Shipbuilding from 1956 until 1970, where he was an Instructor and Pipefitter-Welder. He was a former employee of Standard Oil from 1970-1972 and then traveled with Union Local #436 where he lived in a number of different states. He was employed with Fort Garden Pipe Welding until his illness in September 2010. He is preceded in death by his son, Robert Earl Fairley, Sr.; parents, Howard and Verlie Mae Fairley. He is survived by loving wife of 59 years, Ruth Scott Fairley; one son and one daughter, Jeff DeWayne Fairley and DeLinda Diane Fairley, all of Augusta, GA; three grandchildren, Lauren Nicole Hutcheson, Steven Charles Carpenter and Brandy Kistler; great-grandchildren, Amrie Bradley, Julian Kistler, Michael Kistler, Shawna Marie Kistler; sister, Sarah Jane Simpson; three step-sisters, Brenda, Marian, Loretta; numerous other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 23, 2016 from 1:00-2:00 at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula, MS. Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 in the funeral home chapel.
