AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Robert Hernandez, Sr. entered into rest on Sunday, December 28th, 2014 at University Hospital. Robert was preceded in death by his loving parents: Juanita Streen Hernandez (mother) and John Sabus Hernandez (father). Robert served in the United States Army until he received an Honorable Discharge on November 30th, 1968 as an E-9. During his time in the United States Army, Robert served in the Vietnam War for his country. After his Honorable Discharge, Robert continued working for the federal government and later retired in the 1970s. He attended school at Augusta Technical Institute, graduating with a degree in Accounting. Upon completion of his degree, Robert began his own janitorial business called, RH Commercial Cleaning, which he ran until his death (40 years). In June of 2003 (18th), Robert married Michelle Renee Coleman Hernandez, and they had a great, dynamic and powerful union until his passing. Robert and Michelle loved each other with an unconditional love that only comes from God on High. Survivors include: His loving, devoted and faithful wife of eleven years, Michelle Renee Coleman Hernandez; his brother, Sabus Hernandez; his sisters, Miriam (Marion) Griffin; Juanita (Waudell) Hinton; and Helen Dent. His children: Monique Jackson (daughter); Robert Hernandez, Jr. (son); Tatyana Hall (daughter) and Ricardo S. Coleman (step-son). Also, Robert leaves behind a host of nieces; nephews; cousins and friends he had for a lifetime. Memorial Services for Robert will be held at Church of the Most Holy Trinity, Augusta GA 30901 at 12:15 pm on Wednesday, January 7th, 2015. Robert shall be deeply and greatly missed by all those his life touched.
