AUGUSTA, Ga. - Lt. Col. Robert C. Hulsebus, 69, husband of Lela "Jo" Hulsebus, entered Heaven on Friday, October 9, 2015 at University Hospital. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 17, 2015 in the Chapel at First Baptist Church Augusta with Dr. Ken Word officiating. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park with Full Military Honors. Bob was born in Newberry, SC to Robert and Allie Lou Hulsebus and grew up in Columbia and Chester. He graduated from Furman University in 1968 and earned a Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Florida. After serving in the US Army for 23 years, he retired in Augusta and worked as a rehabilitation and child psychologist for 20 years. An avid hunter, world traveler, and Gator fan, Bob will be remembered as kind and caring, with a quick wit and good sense of humor. He was a member of First Baptist Church Augusta where he attended for 28 years, and he loved the Lord with all his heart. Bob is survived by his wife, Jo Hulsebus; a brother, Tim Hulsebus (Paula); two sisters, Lucretia Speas (Greg) and Bobbie Lou Shipman (Jeff); nephews, Tyson Hulsebus (Victoria), Shane Hulsebus, Corey Hulsebus (Elise), Strother Tedford (Lindsay), Nathan Shipman, and Abe Judson; nieces, Clary Pollack (Fred) and Allie Jo Shipman; and his great nephews and nieces, Ella, Gracie, Rhett, Asher and Layla.
