KLINE, S.C. - Robert Raymond Bob Rimes Sr., 82, passed away on May 1, 2015 at the Georgia Regents Medical Center in Augusta, GA. Bob was born in Savannah, Georgia on November 17, 1932 and was the son of the late Jake Ovie Rimes Sr. and Mary Ellen Crutchfield Rimes. He was a graduate of Savannah High School. He served in the National Guard and in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired pipefitter with Local Union 150, Augusta GA. Bob won the National Pipefitter Apprentice Competition at Purdue University. He was a pipefitter instructor at Union 150 and was self- employed at R & R Mechanical Inc. He was a member of Harmony Masonic Lodge #17 of Barnwell and Jamil Shrine Temple. He was the retired mayor of Kline where he served for 25 years and a member of the Kline Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman. Bob will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at 4:00PM in the Kline Baptist Church with Dr. Finley Limehouse and Rev. Frank Shealey officiating. Burial will follow in the Barnwell County Memory Gardens (Reynolds Rd.) with Masonic and Military Rites accorded. Visitation will be held on Monday May 4, 2015 from 6-8 pm at Mole Funeral Home. Surviving are his loving wife of 55 years, Beverley Allen Rimes of Kline; sons, Robert Raymond (Tammy) Rimes Jr. of Williston, and Paul Randall (Holly) Rimes of Kline; daughter, Rachael Rimes (Keith) Still of Hilda; sister, Patricia B. Stalker of Savannah; grandchildren, Krysten Rimes, Sierra Rimes, Cayley Rimes, Joshua Still, Caitlin Still, Tyler Rimes, Robert R. Rimes III and Peyton Allen Rimes; great-granddaughter, Jaclynne Rimes and special nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Bob was also preceded in death by his son, William Allen Rimes and brothers, Jake Ovie Rimes Jr. and William Gary Rimes.
