AUGUSTA, Ga. - Roberta Prince Grigg Williamson passed away at her home in Georgia on Monday, November 2, 2015. She was born in Norfolk, VA on July 25, 1917 to Otesse and Finley Grigg. She was married to Benjamin Franklin Williamson for 70 years, from 1937 until his death in 2007. She was a proud retiree of 25 years as an executive secretary for the City of Virginia Beach and a life-long Episcopalian. She is survived by her two children: son Robert F. Williamson, Sr. and wife Patricia G., and daughter Franklynn W. Ring and husband James K.; 6 grandchildren: Roberta R. Merriman and husband Mathew, J. Kirk Ring and wife Amy, Robert F. Williamson, Jr. and wife Amanda, James W. Ring and wife Leigh Anne, Randolph B. Williamson and wife Laurie, and Richard B. Williamson; and 12 great-grandchildren: Kristine Merriman, Samantha Williamson, Jacklin Williamson, Joshua Merriman, Jacob Williamson, Caroline Ring, D. Kirk Ring, Skylar Williamson, Colby Williamson, Joshua Ring, Mckenna Williamson, and Elise Ring. The family would thank the physicians, nurses, and many other people at University Hospital and PruittHealth Hospice, Augusta, GA for their love, care, and support. A memorial service will be held in Georgia at 6pm on Friday, November 6, 2015 at Church of the Holy Comforter, 473 Furys Ferry Rd., Martinez, GA 30907. Additionally services will be held in Virginia. On Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 10am, the normal Thursday morning service will include a celebration of Meme's life at Old Donation Episcopal Church, 449 N. Witchduck Rd., Virginia Beach, VA 23455. Interment will be held at 11am, Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 8100 Granby St., Norfolk, VA 23505. The interment will be followed by a full memorial Eucharist at 12pm with a reception to follow at Old Donation Episcopal Church. All are welcome to attend any of the services in Georgia and Virginia to celebrate this wonderful woman's life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Church of the Holy Comforter, Martinez, GA or the building fund of Old Donation Episcopal Church, Virginia Beach, VA.
