NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Miss Rosa Sutherland Blodgett, of North Augusta, 83, widow of Sanford Blodgett, died June 24, 2015 after a long battle with Kennedy's disease. Rosa was born on January 29, 1932 in Augusta, GA. She was a lifelong gardener. She always believed one is nearer God's heart in a garden than anywhere else on earth and stayed close to him this way; she also cherished her time with her family. Rosa was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Frances Sutherland; her husband, Sanford Blodgett; her children, James "Jimmy" Robinson, Greg Hines and Terry Jean Wood; and her grandson Stephen Carter, Jr. She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Rosemarie Carter and her son Dennis Hines, both of North Augusta. She leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will take place at a later date. Condolences in Miss Rosa's memory can be made to the residence of Rosemarie Carter.
