Phillips Amerson NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Mrs. Rosalyn Phillips Amerson, 89, affectionately known by her family and friends as "Ronnie", wife of the late Mr. Thurman Ethan Amerson, entered into rest on Sunday, November 20, 2016. Born in Gibson, GA, a daughter of the late George Arthur and Nealie Mathis Phillips and a former resident of Augusta, GA, she had made North Augusta, SC, her home since 1960. She retired from Southern Bell on Greene Street, in Augusta, after thirty-seven years of service. Mrs. Amerson was a member of Woodridge Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Senior Adults Sunday School Class, was formerly on the Board of Trustees was a former church clerk, as well as Hostess and taught preschool. She was a former volunteer at the North Augusta Community Ministry, was a member of the retired Telephone Pioneers, the Golden Age Club, Senior Friends, and the Red Hat Society. Mrs. Amerson loved to travel, especially church bus trips and enjoyed hunting and fishing with her family. In addition to her husband and parents, family members include a daughter, Erman Amy Beard Scott and her husband, Donald, Beaufort, SC; siblings, Mauree E. "Zeke" Phillips, Huntsville, AL and the late Carl V. Phillips, grandchildren, Dana Beard Martin and her husband, Clint and Shannon Beard Ennis and her husband, Marvin, great-grandchildren, Lindsay Martin Netzler and her husband, Eric, Hannah Martin, Baleigh Ennis, Ethan Ennis, Alden Ennis and Chloe Martin, and a great-great-grandchild, Addison Netzler. The family will greet friends on (this evening) Tuesday, November 22, 2016, from 5 until 7 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Hwy., Graniteville, SC. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at 1 o'clock in the chapel of Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service with Pastor Ron Hasty officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC. Pallbearers will be Clint Martin, Marvin Ennis, Ethan Ennis, Alden Ennis, Eric Netzler and Donald Scott.
