GIBSON, Ga. - Mr. Roy F. Instasi, Sr., age 88, of Gibson, died Friday, June 17, 2016 at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Fort Gordon. Requiem Mass will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday June 21, in the Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Thomson with Father Stephens Lyness, PP, officiating. Interment prayer services will be held 2:30 PM Tuesday in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville with full military honors. A native of Boston, MA, Mr. Instasi was one of nine children of Nicholas Marino Instasi and Louise Iarrobino Instasi. He served in the United States Army for more than 20 years. He was a retired truck driver after many years driving for Great Costal and was a member of the million mile club. He was a member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Thomson. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers, 2 sisters, 2 sons, Roy F. Instasi, Jr., and Salvatore Instasi, and is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Barbara Harding Instasi of Gibson; 3 daughters, Diane Calandra of Lake Zurich, IL, Barbara Ann Ellis of Richmond, VA and Rene Instasi of Gibson; 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
