AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Sarah Little Brown was born in Jefferson County, Georgia on February 17, 1927, to the late Thomas Little, Sr. and the late Carrie Walker Little. At an early age, she joined Lofton A.M.E. Church in Wrens, Georgia, where she was a faithful and dedicated member, serving as a class leader and as a member of the Women Missionary Society, until her health began to decline. After an extended illness, she entered into rest January 23, 2016 while in hospice care. Sarah united in matrimony with the late Rev. Andrew L. Brown in 1954, and they remained devoted to each other until his death in 2007. To this union, three children were born. One child, Catherine (stillborn), preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memories: two children, Angela D. Brown, Augusta, GA, and Ronald E. Brown (Deborah), Hephzibah, GA; two grandchildren, Farrell A. Brown and Alese S. Brown, both of Hephzibah, GA; one sister, Mrs. Carrie Mae Avery, St. Petersburg, FL; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Valeria (Joe) Pressley, Columbus, OH and Mrs. Clara Brown, Louisville, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. from Lofton A.M.E. Church, 1478 Campground Road, Wrens, GA, Reverend Stephen B. Smith, pastor. Interment will be in the church cemetery. W. H. Mays Mortuary, 1221 James Brown Boulevard, Augusta, GA 30901 (706) 722-6401.
