US Army (Retired) AUGUSTA, Ga. - SFC Sebastian Rosas, US Army (Ret.), 94, husband of 61 years to Nidia C. Rosas, entered into rest Friday, July 10, 2015, at Georgia Regents University Medical Center. Memorial services with Full Military Honors will be held Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at 6:00 PM from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with Reverend Mr. George H. Foster officiating. Mr. Rosas, son of Eladio and Agapita Sedas Rosas, was born in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico. He retired from the United States Army after 29 years serving in World War II, the Korean Conflict, and the Vietnam War. After his military service he retired from Greenfield Industries. He coached baseball with the Richmond County Recreation Department for seven years, and the Masters City Little League for four years and was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Georgia Regents University Medical Center and at Eisenhower Medical Center for their care during his illness. In addition to his wife he is survived by his son, Carlos Rosas, of Augusta; his daughter, Nidia C. Rosas, of Augusta; his grandchildren, Alexandra E. Rosas, Ricardo Sebastian Rosas, and Jeremy Heath; his nieces, Mildred Mills, Liza Negron-Finch, Lee-Marie Negron Norton, and Marie Gilstrap; his nephew, Armando Alequin; his great nieces and nephews, Jasmine, Alicia, Quentin, Nick, Addison, and Hunter; numerous other nieces and nephews in Puerto Rico, Panama, and California; his daughter in law, Sharlan Rosas, of Martinez, her parents, Wyman and Peggy Langham, of Waynesboro, and their daughter, Carlan Mimmie, of Martinez. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Blackwell, Don Mills, Miguel Navarrte, Patrick Meagher, and Wyman Langham. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 15, 2015, from 5:00 until the hour of service at the funeral home.
