RICHMOND HILL, Ga. - Shirley Evans Vining, 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 21, 2016 at Bryan County Health and Rehab Center. Shirley was a native of Savannah and lived in the Augusta area for 30 years before moving back to Richmond Hill for the past 26 years. She graduated from Commercial High School in 1953, was a member of the Richmond Hill United Methodist Church and the Saints, a member of Augusta R.E.A.C.T. dive and rescue team, The Red Hats and the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by husband, John Wayne Vining and three sons, Chuck, Jon and Dan. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, David and Traci Vining of Augusta; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and James Jones of Hephzibah; daughter and son-in-law, Vera and Charlie Anderson of Washington, GA; son, James Wiggins of Tyler, TX; sister, Frankie E. Yawn of Richmond Hill; nephew, Chris Yawn of Macon; daughter-in-law, Pam Vining of Richmond Hill, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and cousins. Visitation will be 3-6 p.m., Sunday, January 24, at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel. The funeral service will be at 11:00 on Monday, January 25, at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel. Burial will follow at Burnt Church Cemetery. Many thanks to everyone at Bryan County Health and Rehab Center for everything they did for Shirley during her stay there!
