LIMA, Ohio - Susan M. Hymer, 69, of Lima, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at 1:31 PM on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at her residence. She was born on September 6, 1946 in Ann Arbor, MI to Robert Critchett, who survives in Sterling Heights, MI and Gloria Staples, who survives in Wapak, OH. On September 12, 1997, she married Brian Hymer, who survives in Lima. Susan was the director of the New Vision Medical Laboratories for over 16 years. She had earned two Master's Degrees, one from the University of Tennessee and the other from the University of Georgia. She was a private pilot and enjoyed flying. But most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Surviving are her children, Chanin Stegall of Augusta, GA, Chandra (Joe) Nott of Lima, Christina (Charlie) Long of Middletown, OH and Brian K. (Carrie) Hymer of Bloomington, IL; her eight grandchildren; her niece, Ali; her nephew, Aaron. She was preceded in death by her sister, Viki Braun. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 18, 2016 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Shawnee United Methodist Church, 2600 Zurmehly Road, Lima, OH 45806 with a memorial service following the visitation at 1:00 PM. Rev. Bryan Bucher and Rev. Charlotte Hefner will officiate the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church.
