GRANITEVILLE, S.C. - Thomas Wayne "TW" Pitts, 71, husband of Mrs. Shirley Lee Pitts, of Graniteville, entered into rest on September 17, 2015 at University Hospital surrounded by his family. Born November 7, 1943 in Talladega, Alabama, he was the son of the late Nevlon T. Pitts and Mary Lou Heath Pitts. He was a member of the South Carolina Highway Patrol. In later years he became the manager of the Department of Motor Vehicles in North Augusta, SC. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a wonderful and loving husband and soul mate. Papa had a special bond with all of his grandchildren and spent as much time with them as he possibly could. Mr. Pitts was preceded in death by his parents and a baby daughter, Melissa Lynette Pitts. He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years; his children, Rhonda Pitts Wells (Christopher) of North Augusta, and Lori Pitts Ard (Tim) of Graniteville; his siblings, Bobby Pitts (Judy) of Barnwell and Irene Knighten of Mumford, Alabama; and his grandchildren, Ryan Wells, Amber Wells, Sayne Barthlome and Brittany Ard. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 22, 2015 from 6-7PM at Hatcher Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held at 7PM, Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Hatcher Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Pitts' memory to . The family will receive friends at Rhonda Wells' house, located at 252 Mill Stone Lane, North Augusta, SC, Sunday, September 20, 2015, anytime after 1PM.
