TAYLORS, S.C. - Thomas Augustus "Pop" Traylor, 74, died October 4, 2015 at Greenville Memorial Hospital. A native of Augusta, Georgia, son of the late Augustus Jones and Maggie Horton Traylor, he was a member of N. Augusta Yellow Jackets and the 1958 State Championship football team. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, a retired employee of BF Shaw where he was known as "Wormy" and of the Baptist faith. Mr. Traylor was a member of the Walden Lodge #274, Greenville Hejaz Shriners and Local Plumbers and Pipefitters #421. He was an avid Clemson fan. Surviving are his wife, Joyce Traylor of Augusta, Georgia; two sons, Jody Traylor of Lyman and Steven Traylor of Taylors; a daughter, Tammy Traylor Giacometti (Joe) of Irmo; two sisters, Jeanne Eubanks of Duluth, Georgia and Dot Amerson of N. Augusta, SC; one grandchild, Payton Ashley Traylor; and best friend, Harry Poston. Mr. Traylor was predeceased by a brother, Jimmy Traylor. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Wayne Brown. Burial will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday in Sunset Hill Cemetery, N. Augusta, SC. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at The Wood Mortuary. The families are at their respective homes.
