AUGUSTA, Ga. - Ms. Vicky Spratlin, 55, entered into rest on Thursday, August 11, 2016. Vicky was a native of Augusta but had lived in Atlanta for many years before moving back to Augusta to be closer to her family. Even at an early age, Vicky always wanted to be a doctor. She set her goals and was valedictorian of her class at Glenn Hills High, top 5% of her class at Augusta College, and top 10% of her class at the Medical College of Georgia. Vicky was also Chief Resident at Emory University then choosing Psychiatry as her career. In Atlanta, Vicky worked at several facilities and owned a pharmaceutical research company. In 2011, she moved to Augusta and accepted the position of Clinical Director of East Central Regional Hospital of Georgia/Gracewood State Hospital. Her patients were always her main concern and worked tirelessly to make sure each one had the best care possible. Vicky loved old movies, musicals, the Georgia Bulldogs, the Atlanta Braves, the Atlanta Falcons and taking her niece Kayla to performances at the Fox Theater in Atlanta. Immediate family members include her parents, John and Marian Spratlin; a sister, Valerie (Ken Rayburn); a brother, Wayne Wells (Linda Williams); and the highlight of her life, her niece Kayla Rayburn. Her furry family includes two cats, Sara and Sophie. Visitation with the family will take place 1 PM Friday, August 19, 2016 at the Lumpkin Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home Chapel; the memorial service to follow at 2pm with the Reverend Frankie May officiating. The family would like to thank Vicky's professional family at East Central Regional Hospital/Gracewood, Augusta University, the State of Georgia office of DBHDD, and friends for the support they have shown through this difficult time.
