NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Mrs. Violet Blackmon Brissey, 83, wife of the late Mr. Joe Brissey, entered into her heavenly home on Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at Georgia Regents University Hospice, surrounded by her loving family and church members. Born in and a lifelong resident of Aiken County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Eleanor Ford Blackmon. She retired from the Augusta Chronicle as Classified Advertising Director, receiving honors for her work. She was a member of Woodridge Baptist Church, the Kingdom Seekers Sunday School Class and the Women's Mission Group. She was a member of Midland Valley Country Club. A dedicated Clemson Tiger fan, Mrs. Brissey was an IPTAY member for twenty-five years. GO TIGERS!!! The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of ICU at GRU Hospital and GRU Hospice for the loving care they provided. In addition to her husband and parents, family members include a daughter, Wanda Smith and her late husband, Marty, North Augusta, SC; sons, Tom Green and his wife, Wanda, Seneca, SC and Jim Green, Augusta, GA; step-sons, Ronald K. Brissey, Sr. and his wife, Patti, North Augusta, SC, Joey Brissey and his wife, Barb, Aiken, SC and Frank Brissey and his wife, Bonnie, Aiken, SC; siblings, the late Jewell Blackmon, the late Ollie Blackmon and the late Russell Blackmon; grandchildren, Monica Brooks, Mark Smith, Jason Green, Andrew Green, Ronald Kane Brissey, Jr., Brandon Brissey, Patrick Brissey, Katelyn Brissey, Andrea Lupton, Emily Green and Chris Moore and twelve great-grandchildren, all of whom who loving called her Nana. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2015, at 1 o'clock at Woodridge Baptist Church, North Augusta, SC, with Dr. Ronald Hasty officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC. Pallbearers will be deacons of Woodridge Baptist Church. and Johnnie Johnson and L.J. Stewart.
