AUGUSTA, Ga. - Wayne Robert "Bobby" Brown, 78, passed away on Jan. 26, 2016. Bobby was born in Brunswick, Ga. but made his home in Augusta. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Ruby Brown , five siblings and the love of his life, Alberta Geloneck. During his lifetime he owned several businesses which included Roto-Rooter, Port-a-let, Charles Chips, Handi-House, Brown's Sweeper Service, Brown's Rental and "At the Levee" Restaurant.
He was a Navy veteran, served on the USS Wm. M. Wood an was involved in the Cuban missile crisis. Bobby was very civic minded and an active member of the Jaycees, Rotary Club, Exchange Club, Ambucs Club and a Masonic Mason. He was also involved in establishing the Augusta Rowing Club. As an avid hunter and fisherman, he was a long-time member of the Briar Creek Sportman Club.
Upon retirement, he was fortunate enough to travel on The National Geographic Endeavour which went around the world.
He is survived by his children, Janice Christine Reichard (Jon) of Augusta Ga.; Jerome Wayne Brown (Cyndy) of Evans, Ga.; Timothy Robert Brown of Charleston and Douglas Augustas Brown of Vinnings Ga.; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchilden.
He was loved and will be missed by many friends and family.
Memorial service will be held on a later date.
