Wilfred LaPrade Obituary

THOMSON, Ga. - Wilfred J. LaPrade, Sr., 73, of Howard Rd., Thomson, entered into rest Thursday, May 27, 2009, at University Hospital. Funeral services will be held Friday, today, at 3:30 P.M., from the graveside in Bellevue Memorial Gardens with Chaplain Frankie May officiating. Family and friends should assemble at the graveside. Mr. LaPrade, a native of Schnectady, NY, had lived in Augusta for more than 30 years. He had retired from the U.S. Army with the rank of Sergeant First Class. Mr. LaPrade was a jack of all trades who enjoyed gardening, reading, and working crossword puzzles. Mr. LaPrade is survived by the mother of his children, Marion LaPrade of Augusta, seven children; and a host of grandchildren and family. The family will receive friends at the cemetery immediately following the service. If desired the family suggests memorials be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 938 Greene St., Augusta, GA, 30901.
